Built for butchery, not display

The blade is long, narrow and curved, with a fine upswept tip — the boning-knife geometry, made for following bone and separating joints rather than chopping. The flat is left with its hammered forge texture while the edge is ground bright and thin, so you get the look of a forged blade and a working bevel on the same piece. Three millimetres at the spine gives it enough stiffness to lever through a joint without flexing away from you.

Rosewood and brass

The handle is natural rosewood — dense, close-grained and warm in the hand — seated in a heavy cast brass bolster and finished with a brass cap at the butt. The bolster puts weight behind your grip, which is what makes a 300-gram knife feel controlled rather than heavy.

Carry it to the fire

It ships in a riveted leather sheath with a belt slot, so it travels to the fishing spot, the camp or the barbecue instead of living in a drawer. Browse the rest of the hand-forged blade collection or the wider Viking armory.

Hand-wash only — do not put it in the dishwasher. Dry it fully after every use and store it dry.

ANATOMIE DER KLINGE

Jedes Teil hat seinen Platz verdient

A long, narrow, upswept blade — seven inches of boning geometry made for following bone and parting joints rather than chopping. The flat keeps its hammered forge texture; the edge is ground bright and thin. Three millimetres at the spine gives it the stiffness to lever through a joint. Rosewood scales sit in a heavy cast brass bolster, with a brass cap at the butt to balance the weight back into the hand.

Caring for the Fenrir boning knife: the knife on linen beside an oil bottle and a sharpening whetstone

What steel is the blade made of?

7Cr17MoV, hand-forged and left with a hammered texture on the flat with a bright ground edge. Whatever the steel, treat it as a knife that wants drying: wash by hand and dry it fully after use.

How big is the knife?

13.8 inches (35 cm) overall with a 7-inch (18 cm) blade, 3 mm thick at the spine, weighing about 300 g.

What is the handle made of?

Natural rosewood, seated in a cast brass bolster and capped with a brass rivet at the butt.

Is it dishwasher safe?

No. Hand-wash it and dry it completely after each use — the dishwasher will damage both the blade and the wooden handle.

What is this knife best used for?

Boning and filleting: butchering, breaking down fish and poultry, and camp or barbecue cooking. The leather sheath has a belt slot so it carries easily outdoors.
