Raven rings carry the bird of Odin, the god who sends his two ravens, Huginn ("thought") and Muninn ("memory"), out over the world each day and listens to what they bring back. This page gathers all our raven rings: rings with a single raven, wing, feather and claw bands, and rings that pair the raven with Odin, the Valknut or Yggdrasil, in 925 sterling silver, bronze and 14K gold. Almost all of them are handmade.
The pair are named in the Eddic poem Grímnismál and in Snorri's Prose Edda. Read the full account in our Huginn and Muninn Library entry, find raven necklaces and arm rings in the Huginn and Muninn collection, or browse every design in Viking rings.

Choosing a Raven Ring
One raven or two?
A single raven is the simplest way to wear Odin's bird. The Huginn and Muninn rings show the pair, and the wing, feather and claw bands use the bird's form without a full figure.
Mammen, Urnes and later symbols
Three rings are worked in Mammen or Urnes style, two late Viking-Age art styles named after the decorated axe from Mammen in Denmark and the carvings of Urnes stave church in Norway. The Vegvísir and the Helm of Awe on some of the combination rings come from Icelandic manuscripts written centuries after the Viking Age, so we pair them with the raven as later Icelandic tradition, not as Viking-Age finds.
Raven Rings, FAQ
What does a raven ring mean?
The raven is the bird of Odin. His two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, whose names mean thought and memory, fly over the world each day and return to tell him what they have seen, so a raven ring is usually read as a sign of Odin and of wisdom.
Are Odin's ravens a genuine Viking-Age motif?
The raven-Odin link is genuinely ancient: Migration- and Vendel-period art already shows a horned figure flanked by two birds, and ravens were battlefield birds that fed on the slain. The names Huginn and Muninn, however, reach us only through 13th-century Icelandic texts.
Which raven does Odin fear losing more?
Muninn. In Grímnismál, stanza 20, Odin says he fears that Huginn will not come back, yet fears more for Muninn. The usual reading is that thought can be risked, memory cannot.
What are the raven rings made of?
Most are 925 sterling silver. There are also two bronze rings and an ornamental raven ring in 14K gold. Sizes are listed on each product page, and our ring size guide shows how to measure.
