Fenrir is the great wolf of Norse myth, so fearsome the gods bound him — at the cost of Tyr's hand. The Aegishjalmur, or Helm of Awe, is a protective stave recorded in later Icelandic manuscripts rather than Viking-Age finds — we're honest about that, and it's been part of Norse tradition for centuries all the same. Explore both symbols in our Norse symbol library or our guide to Norse symbols and meanings.
