QUESTIONS

Questions fréquentes

Did Viking women wear rings?
They did, but finger rings were not the main piece. Norse women's status jewelry was the paired oval brooch and the arm ring, and those are what the graves and hoards turn up most often. Finger rings appear, in silver and bronze, as wealth worn on the hand.
What size are women's Viking rings?
Most bands here run US 5 to 15, so the smaller end of the run covers the usual women's sizes. Measure before ordering: wrap a strip of paper around the finger, mark it, and measure the length in millimetres against a ring size chart.
Which Norse symbols suit a woman's ring?
Knotwork and the Triquetra read as unbroken bonds, Yggdrasil as the world tree and growth, and the Elder Futhark runes carry whatever word you choose. Note that the Vegvisir and the Helm of Awe come from later Icelandic manuscripts, not from Viking Age finds.
Are these rings sterling silver?
Most are 925 sterling silver. Some are bronze and a few are solid 14k gold. The metal is stated on every product page, and the item's own description is the one to trust.
