A word of honesty about the Helm of Awe: the name ægishjálmr appears in Old Norse poetry, where the dragon Fáfnir claims it made him terrifying to all, but the eight-armed stave design worn today comes from much later Icelandic manuscripts, not Viking-Age finds.
