What is the Elder Futhark?
The Elder Futhark is the oldest runic alphabet, used by Germanic speakers roughly from the 2nd to the 8th centuries. It has 24 characters and is the row that appears on the earliest runic inscriptions, before the Younger Futhark of the Viking Age.
Does the ring spell a word?
No. It carries the alphabet in its traditional order, not a message. We do not sell it as a translated inscription.
What are the points along the other edge?
A row of arrow heads cut into the rim. They are ornament, not a second script, and we make no claim about a meaning for them.
