What does the artwork show?
Gungnir, the spear associated with Odin, together with his ravens Huginn and Muninn, whose names mean Thought and Memory.
Is Gungnir named in the Norse sources?
Gungnir is named as Odin's spear in later Norse tradition, but the Hávamál says only that Odin was wounded with a spear and never names the weapon, so the identification is a long-standing inference rather than the text itself. The weapon said to return to its owner's hand is Thor's hammer Mjölnir, not Gungnir.
