QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Is this a Viking design?
No. The ship's wheel, anchor and chain are nautical marks, not Norse ones. This is not a Norse motif and we do not sell it as one. It sits in our catalogue because the same workshop casts it, in the same 925 sterling silver.
Did Viking ships have a wheel?
No. Norse ships were steered with a side rudder mounted on the right hand quarter, which is where the word starboard comes from. The ship's wheel is a much later invention, from around 1700.
How heavy is it?
Approximately 9 to 10 g in 925 sterling silver, which makes it one of the lighter rings we list.
What sizes can I order?
Any US size, including half sizes such as 7 1/2 or 11 1/4, made individually for your order. It is handmade to order in 5 to 20 days.
