The back text is the Valhalla prayer from the 1999 film The 13th Warrior, a modern line that drew loosely on Ibn Fadlan's account of a Rus funeral on the Volga. The Yggdrasil trees on the front are the world tree of Norse myth, and the midwinter feast the sweater nods to is Yule, which still has its own traditions. This is one of two print versions of the design; see the whole line in our Fa La La La La Valhalla sweaters collection.
