Description

A 925 sterling silver Valknut pendant built as an openwork oval, with the symbol framed by a border of rune ornament. Openwork lets light through the piece so the Valknut reads clearly against clothing, and it keeps the weight to about 18 g.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What does the Valknut mean?
The Valknut is a figure of three interlocking triangles. It is one of the few motifs in modern Norse jewelry that genuinely appears in Viking Age material, on the Gotland picture stones and in the Oseberg ship burial, usually in contexts connected with Odin and the dead. Its original meaning was never written down.
What are the runes around the edge?
The border carries runic style ornament. We do not sell it as a translated inscription, because the arrangement is decorative rather than a recorded text.
What is it made of?
925 sterling silver, weighing approximately 18 g.
Does it come with a chain?
This listing is for the pendant on its own. You can pair it with any of our Viking chains and necklaces.
