Ares axe: build & materials
- Head: forged W108 high-carbon steel, hardened to 54–58 HRC.
- Handle: ash wood with a gentle leather wrap.
- Head length: 5.51" (140 mm); cutting edge: 6.10" (155 mm).
- Overall length: 24.80" (630 mm); weight: 2.75 lb (1.25 kg).

A functional Viking war axe
Each Ares head is forged and ground by hand, so no two are exactly alike, and the broad 155 mm edge is left with a working bevel rather than a display polish. At 63 cm it's a substantial one-handed axe, at home in reenactment, outdoor use or on the wall. Compare it with the rest of our Viking axes.
