An honest note: the famous "Viking prayer" ("Lo, there do I see my father…") was written for the 1999 film The 13th Warrior, loosely inspired by Ibn Fadlan's 10th-century account of a Rus funeral — it isn't a surviving Viking-Age text, but it has become a modern classic in its own right.
