QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What is the Helm of Awe?
The Helm of Awe, Aegishjalmur, is an eight armed protective stave. As drawn today it comes from Icelandic grimoires of the 1600s and 1800s rather than Viking Age archaeology, although the name appears earlier in Old Norse poetry.
Are the runes a real inscription?
The band carries Elder Futhark characters as ornament. We do not sell it as a translated inscription, because the arrangement is decorative rather than a recorded text.
Is the green stone a real gem?
No. It is a cubic zirconia, a modern synthetic stone.
What sizes can I order?
US 6 to 15, made individually in the size you order. It is handmade to order in 3 to 15 days.
