The Vegvisir is often sold as a Viking compass, but the drawing we all know comes from the Huld manuscript, written in Iceland in 1860. It is later Icelandic material, not a Viking Age find, and we say so on every listing. Cubic zirconia is a modern synthetic stone, and we say so rather than implying a natural gem. The shield shaped face is shared across a small set of rings, each carrying a different Norse symbol.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Is the Vegvisir a real Viking symbol?
Not as drawn. The familiar eight armed Vegvisir comes from Icelandic manuscripts, most famously the Huld manuscript of 1860, roughly 800 years after the Viking Age. We sell it as later Icelandic stave material rather than a Viking Age find.
Are the green stones real gemstones?
No. They are cubic zirconia, a modern synthetic stone.
What is the ring made of?
925 sterling silver set with cubic zirconia, weighing 10 g.
What sizes are available?
US 6 to 15, made individually in 3 to 15 days.
